Burnham Market

Situated a stones throw from the North Norfolk coast, Burnham Market is a lively village popular with tourists from across the globe.

Burnham built up around a busy market and has become well known in recent times for it's up market shops and restaurants, most of which are located around the village greens in the centre of the village.

Burnham Market, as well as it's neighbour Burnham Thorpe has many connections to Horatio Nelson and his family. At the most easterly point of the village you will find the property formally named Church House, Nelson's father's Burnham Market retreat which he moved to in the mid 1790's when Nelson  returned to his home of Burnham Thorpe. It is believed that his father moved out of the Rectory to give Nelson more space and began residing at Church House, which was later to become the Victoria public house, and has today been divided into smaller town houses.

Today, Burnham is known far and wide for it's cosmopolitan atmosphere and has become known as "Chelsea on Sea".
